SERMON SNAPSHOT: Sunday, November 1, 2026

Dear Friends in Christ,

There was a devastating famine in the Roman empire hitting Judea especially hard. Apostle Paul is committed to helping.  In his ministry, he had long advocated for relationship between the Gentile churches and the Judeo/Christian churches he had also established. He is raising money and advocating for practical help for the suffering. It’s an opportunity across millennia for us to be reminded how we are to behave:

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work," 2 Corinthians 9:7-8.

Do we believe the word across the centuries? Is this the key to abundant life for us, for our beloved church, for our neighbors? (And who are they?)

See you in worship!
